milk_shake® Session Stylists Teresa Weller and Kelly Summerfield headed the backstage team for Innu London during February.
Upcoming designer Kim Melville-Smith launched her latest collection Power at Meursault Bar, Kensington. Hair was big, strong and powerful with a soft, dramatic and feminine twist. Mohawks were dressed with hair extensions that had been coloured with soft pinks, pastel greens and baby blues. Kelly Summerfield quotes, ‘this years colours are crazy and strong and reflect power. Not only does Direct Colour offer so much colour choice, it’s also so quick to develop and easy to use. It works brilliantly on hair extensions which is important for session work’. Once again milk_shake’s new Lifestyling Strong Hairspray was a godsend according to Teresa Weller ‘session work is fast paced and exciting, but I need good, strong products that I can rely on to hold the hair. milk_shake® goody bags were opened by excited VIP’s sitting front row at the Chanel Joan Elkayam Show whilst backstage, milk_shake® Session Stylist Andrew Smith, headed up a team of hair artists including education team member Kristina Ainge.

milk_shake and Salon Du Chocolat joined together to unveil a stunning chocolate fashion show at The Chocolate Show London.
We were delighted to sponsor milk_shake session stylist, Teresa Weller and her team that included milk_shakee educator Kelly Summerfield at The Chocolate Show 2016.
Hair included the most exquisite crown using delicate white chocolate butterflies. This beautiful updo was created by Teresa Weller. This model wore a dress designed by Anita Thakker, make-up by Seventa Images and all imagery courtesy of Salon Du Chocolat. Teresa was keen to comment ” It was awesome to head such a talented team of stylists at such a fabulous event with a wonderful aroma of chocolate surrounding us.
The designers had done the most amazing job and working with the models, having the chance to get incredibly creative was fantastic. milk_shake products are perfect for session work – it is so important to know that when I am creating structured work, I am not damaging the hair with harsh products. I love milk_shake because I trust it to perform exactly as required with a knowledge that the product can be easily rinsed out the following day leaving no damage. We’ll be backstage at Salon Du Chocolat next year! The constant supply of delicious chocolate, cakes and desserts was just an additional bonus!”
The opening night was covered by high profile media to include Evening Standard, Telegraph and ITV News. The Salon du Chocolat are renown for bringing together the talents of chocolatiers and fashion designers from around the world and in joining forces with the milk_shake team made the most deliciously mouth-watering looks to be marvelled at worldwide.

As the muddiest Glastonbury Festival in history unfolded, celebrities, singers, bloggers and the exclusive guests of the Pop-Up hotel flocked to the beautifully designed milk_shake Pop Up Festival Salons. Braids, waves, pastel hues and seriously sparkling festival make-up were huge! The milk_shake team was headed by our go-to festival stylist and milk_shake ambassador Shelley Pengilly and British Education Manager, Becky Wardrop. The girls were joined by the national education team to ensure we could deliver an outstanding milk_shake experience!
Primrose Hill socialite Daisy Lowe became a salon regular and has featured in Vogue’s Glastonbury roundup posing with lush braids by Becky, whilst singer Gabrielle Aplin visited for a trim and a power-shot of direct colour a couple of hours before her set. Charlotte Carle and Ashley James visited our team daily for curls, waves and beautiful festival make-up before they braved the mud to get down to the Pyramid Stage.
Keeping everything eco-friendly was paramount under Glasto rules and the white, reclaimed wooden salon interior designed by the talented team at Lane Redesigns was perfectly on brand and beautiful. The pre-book and payment service (a godsend due to the dreadful weather conditions) was courtesy of Salon IQ Software whilst Easy Dry provided us with their range of eco-friendly towels which perfectly suited the situation we were working in.

milk_shake is hosting Afterlife, its biggest ever UK show, on Sunday April 24th 2016 and the event will include the final of the brand’s inaugural Creative Vision Live Competition.
Afterlife will see vibrant shows from milk_shake’s artistic team, including BHA Southern Hairdresser of the Year finalist Dave Baker, Welsh Women’s hairdresser of the Year Shelley Pengilly, legendary celeb stylist Neville Ramsay and Education Manager Becky Wardrop.

Entrants submitted a photographic image and the eight finalists will be whisked to London and treated to overnight accommodation for their appearance in the live final at The Grand in Clapham, where they will recreate their look on stage in a 10 minute slot, and explain the inspiration behind it. The legendary Desmond Murray will judge the competition. The winner will receive two tickets for a fabulous all-expenses paid trip to the z.one concept international event in Spain on the 24th – 26th September 2016.
We had an amazing response to Creative Vision and some incredible work submitted. The eight finalists have now been selected and contacted individually.
